Tamilnadu Temples 

Tamilnadu is always popular as “Land of holy temples” for its grand shrines which are unique and architectural masterpieces. Meenakshi temple which is one of the biggest and most important temple complexes in the country is dedicated to Goddess Meenakshi or Parvati. Madurai Murugan temple is dedicated to Lord Muruga. Rameshwaram is a famous Hindus temple which is significant for Shaivaites as well as Vaishnavaites. Kanyakumari temple is one of the most sacred temples of Tamilnadu which is dedicated to Goddess Kanya. Beside, the other famous temples in Tamilnadu are Chayavaneashwara Temple, Swamimalai Temple, Nageswaran Temple, Swamimalai Temple etc. Tamilnadu Temples showcase a distinctive style, built by Chola, Pallava, Nayak, Pandya and Vijaynagar rulers, who were great patrons of art and architecture.
 
Tamilnadu Hill Stations 

There are major hill stations in Tamilnadu which are famous for lush greenery, high mountain ranges and so on. The famous Tamilnadu Hill Stations are Ooty, Coonor, Kodaikonal, Kotagiri and Yercaud. Ooty Hill Station is the most popular hill station in South India which is known for its picture postcard scenic beauty and pleasant climate. Coonor is the best hill station in Tamilnadu, here you can enjoy trekking also. Kodaikonal is a perfect holiday spot for enjoying peace and tranquility. Kotagiri is the peaceful destination which is surrounded of the Nilgiri Hills and the beauty of this hill station is simply admirable. Yercaud is another famous hill station where you can see many natural attractions which are incomparable in their respective way. Other popular hill stations of Tamilnadu are Yelagiri, Velliangiri Hills etc.

Meenakshi Temple
 
Meenaksi Temple is one of the most sacred and famous temples for Hindus in India which was built in the early 17th century for Shiva and his wife Parvati or Meenakshi. This temple is situated at the heart of Madurai which consists of the twin temples of God Shiva and Goddess Meenakshi. According to the myth of this temple the marriage of the goddess Meenakshi to Shiva really took place in Madurai and it is still celebrated with much pomp and show and thousands of devotees from all over the country gather in the city of Madurai on this occasion. There are 985 pillars counted in this temple and each pillar is sculptured and is a monument of the Dravidan sculpture. There is a Temple Art Museum in this 1000 pillars hall where you can see icons, photographs, drawings, etc. There are 12 gopurams inside the temple. The Meenakshi temple is one of the largest and most ancient complexes which has magnificent architecture with superb sculpture.

Tamilnadu is always famous for its renowned culture, tradition, natural beauty but among of all it’s the most remarkable places for the temples in India. Tamilnadu hill stations 

Tamilnadu hill stations are very charming and amazing and you can see beautiful greenery all around. The high peaks provide you opportunities to enjoy the exciting and adventurous tour. For the recreations it is the best attractive tourist spot for the people. The popular hill stations in Tamilnadu are Ooty, also called 'the queen of the hill stations of South India’; Kodaikanal, a perfect holiday destination for enjoying peace and rejuvenate yourself, Coonoor is the best hill station in Tamilnadu for trekking. Velliangiri Hills is a higher hill station and also a pilgrimage destination. Besides these, there are other hill stations in Tamilnadu like Yercaud, Yalgiri, Kotagiri etc.

Meenakshi Temple 

Meenakshi temple or Meenakshi Amman Temple is one of the most famous sacred pilgrimages located in the south side of Vaigai River which is in Madurai in Tamilnadu. It is one of the largest temple complexes as well the most ancient. Even it has four entrance facing four directions. It is overspread on very large area of land which is in around 45 acres which looks really very fabulous and outstanding. The temple is surrounded by Gopurams are gateway tower. The statues are inside the temples which express an entire human sensation and it looks vivid and vibrant. This temple is a significant symbol for Tamil people and everyday thousands of people gather here for worshipping. The idol of God Ganesha is engraved outside the Sundareswarar shrine in the path from Meenakshi shrine that is called Mukuruny Vinayakar. There is a hall of thousands pillars inside the temples. It is constructed as an artistic design. And different types of arts on the pillars and walls of the temple inform us about the ancient period. There are fifty priests in the temple who perform the rituals during the festivals.
